Dr Rachel Hennings originally hails from Albany, NY where she completed a triple bachelors degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science and Biology and a minor in Chemistry. After getting the opportunity to do a veterinary student exchange program in Japan she decided to attend Vet School in a different country in order to gain a more diverse knowledge in veterinary medicine. She came to Australia in 2012 and in that year started at Sylvania Veterinary Hospital as a Live-In Veterinary Student where she took care of all the patients after hours for 4 years until she graduated from the University Of Sydney in 2016 and has stayed here ever since!
Rachel has a strong passion for Emergency Medicine as well as Soft Tissue Surgery. She just completed a further education course in Emergency + Critical Care in 2018 and is currently completing a course in Surgery.
Rachel has 2 rescue cats, Mickey and Mouse, and 2 Guineapigs, Angus and Fergus. When she is not at the clinic (which is hardly ever) she enjoys spoiling the rest of the staff with AMAZING American baked goods.
